We strongly recommend you to coordinate beforehand with your host or staff at the hotel you're staying in Hanoi to confirm meeting point and time of departure as schedule regulary change, driver does not speak English, and shuttle / bus are not easy to find.
Bring your own personl kit: towel, soap, shampoo. In Winter, bring extra warm layers and clothers. In Summer, mosquito spray.
